While many young basketball players growing up in Indiana dreaming of playing for Indiana University, Dan Dakich was never one of those people. The Indiana native never thought it would be possible for him to play for the Hoosiers. That all changed when an IU happened to show up to one of the best high school games Dakich ever played. After taking a recruiting trip to Indiana and meeting Coach Bobby Knight, Dakich knew he was destined to be a Hoosier.

On this edition of the Game Time Podcast, I talk with Dan about being a player and assistant coach for legendary Coach Knight, winning a national championship and working for the World Wide Leader in Sports as a college hoops analyst. We also discuss how Dan doesn’t know where his national title ring is and what it was like to be head coach at his alma mater.
